WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for commercial construction projects
- Review architectural and engineering plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing
- Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and vendor proposals
- Develop detailed conceptual, schematic, and hard-bid estimates
- Analyze labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and general-condition costs
- Identify scope gaps, risks, and potential cost-saving opportunities
- Prepare bid proposals and maintain accurate estimating documentation
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, architects, engineers, and clients
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and proposal reviews
- Assist with value engineering and constructability reviews
- Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
- Track market conditions and current material and labor costs
- Support business development efforts by helping identify profitable opportunities
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 3+ years of commercial construction estimating experience
- Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, and costs
- Experience with plans, specifications, takeoffs, and bid preparation
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
- Experience with Bluebeam, OST, Planswift, Procore, On-Screen Takeoff, Excel, or similar estimating software preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred but not required
