Position Overview

An established law firm is seeking a Labor & Employment Attorney to join its growing team. This role provides the opportunity to advise and represent employers on a broad range of labor and employment matters, including workplace counseling and employment litigation. The ideal candidate will have strong labor and employment experience, excellent legal writing skills, and the ability to provide practical guidance to clients in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Advise employers on a variety of labor and employment matters, including wrongful termination, wage and hour issues, PAGA, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and workplace investigations.
  • Represent clients in employment litigation matters, including state and federal court cases, arbitration, and mediation.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, responses, and other litigation documents.
  • Draft and review employment policies, employee handbooks, and employment agreements.
  • Conduct internal workplace investigations involving employee complaints and misconduct.
  • Provide guidance on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Assist clients with labor relations matters, including union issues and employee relations.
  • Negotiate settlements and assist with dispute resolution.
  • Counsel clients on workplace best practices and employment compliance.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school preferred.
  • Active membership in the California State Bar and in good standing.
  • 3+ years of labor and employment experience
  • Experience representing employers in employment disputes, arbitration, and litigation.
  • Strong knowledge of California labor and employment laws.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload independently while working collaboratively with a team.
