Senior Project Manager – Commercial Construction
Experienced Senior Project Manager responsible for leading large-scale commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. Oversees project budgets, schedules, contracts, client relationships, and full project delivery while ensuring safety, quality, and profitability goals are achieved.
Typical project experience includes:
- Ground-up commercial construction
- Healthcare and life science facilities
- Multifamily and mixed-use developments
- Industrial and warehouse/distribution centers
- Higher education and institutional projects
- Tenant improvements (TI) at large scale
- Projects ranging from $20M–$100M+ in value
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead full lifecycle management of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Develop, manage, and track project budgets, cost reports, and financial forecasts.
- Oversee master schedules, milestones, and project execution planning with field teams.
- Manage contracts, subcontracts, change orders, RFIs, and submittal workflows.
- Direct coordination between owners, architects, engineers, superintendents, and subcontractors.
- Lead project meetings, client presentations, and progress reporting.
- Ensure projects meet contractual requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations.
- Support or lead procurement strategy and subcontractor selection.
- Manage risk, resolve disputes, and address field and design issues proactively.
- Mentor Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Engineers.
- Partner closely with Superintendents to ensure field execution aligns with project goals.
- Utilize Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, MS Project, and other construction management tools.
Qualifications:
- 8–15+ years of commercial construction project management experience.
- Proven track record managing large commercial projects ($20M–$100M+ preferred).
- Strong understanding of construction contracts (lump sum, GMP, design-build).
- Advanced skills in budgeting, scheduling, and cost control.
- Experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
