Commercial Litigation Attorney (Mid-Level Associate)

📍 Santa Rosa, California
💰 $160,000 – $180,000 Base Salary + Bonus Potential

A well-established California law firm is seeking a mid-level Commercial Litigation Associate to join its Santa Rosa office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney looking to handle sophisticated litigation matters within a collaborative and highly respected practice group.

The ideal candidate will have at least four years of litigation experience with exposure to commercial, real estate, and/or employment-related disputes. This role offers meaningful responsibility, hands-on litigation experience, and the opportunity to work closely with experienced litigators on complex matters from inception through resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a wide range of commercial litigation matters

  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related documents

  • Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategy

  • Handle written discovery and document review

  • Take and defend depositions

  • Participate in mediations, settlement negotiations, and court appearances

  • Assist with trial preparation and appellate matters

  • Work directly with clients throughout all stages of litigation

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of civil litigation experience

  • Background in commercial litigation strongly preferred

  • Experience with real estate and/or employment litigation is a plus

  • Strong brief writing and motion practice skills

  • Deposition experience required

  • Trial preparation and second-chair trial experience preferred

  • Appellate experience is a plus

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and advocacy skills

  • Strong academic credentials and attention to detail

  • California Bar admission required
