Audit Manager - Real Estate

Location: Denver, CO

Overview

A large national accounting and advisory firm is seeking an experienced Assurance Manager with a real estate focus in Denver. You will supervise, direct and review audit work through planning, fieldwork and wrap-up, and serve as a key client contact.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the audit team, review workpapers and conclusions, and provide on-the-job training
• Assess internal control over financial reporting and recommend improvements to management and audit committees
• Apply GAAP to client transactions and advise clients on new accounting pronouncements
• Draft complex financial statements and footnote disclosures
• Review SEC filings and Section 404 internal control work where applicable
• Plan and oversee the audit process with quality and efficiency
• Prepare required communications to management and audit committees

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics; Master's in Accountancy preferred
• 6+ years of audit or public accounting experience
• Significant prior supervisory experience
• Active US CPA license required
• Industry specialty expertise preferred
