The Sales Representative — also known internally as a Broker or Trader — is the primary revenue driver at confidential. This is a high-impact, entrepreneurial role focused on sourcing recyclable materials from suppliers, matching those materials with qualified buyers, and coordinating profitable transactions from start to finish. There are no earnings caps — your income grows directly with the gross profit you generate.
This role handles large-tier accounts and is responsible for the full deal lifecycle: sourcing, pricing, logistics coordination, and relationship management with both suppliers and buyers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Material Sourcing & Sales
- Identify and secure new suppliers of recyclable materials, with emphasis on OCC (Old Corrugated Containers) and other ISRI-spec commodities
- Develop and manage relationships with material buyers including paper mills and processors
- Match supply with demand to create profitable transactions at or above the $15/ton gross profit benchmark
- Respond to buyer requests by sourcing specific materials as needed
Logistics Coordination
- Determine and coordinate the most efficient logistics solution for each transaction: company trucking, third-party logistics, or buyer-provided transportation
- Coordinate drop trailer programs (53' van trailers) when applicable to support supplier storage and efficiency
- Verify pickup location access via map to ensure trailer accessibility before committing to logistics
Equipment & Services Sales
- Identify opportunities to sell or lease balers and compactors to suppliers
- Promote additional services including equipment repair, baler wire and consumables, and custom recycling solutions
Proposal Development & Deal Execution
- Create and deliver proposals to suppliers and buyers using PandaDoc, Microsoft Word, or email
- Own the full deal process from initial contact through signed agreement and execution
- Ensure all supplier agreements, buyer agreements, and carrier agreements are properly documented
CRM & Team Collaboration
- Track all contacts, opportunities, and deal progress in HubSpot
- Work collaboratively with the sales team to avoid overlap and maximize opportunity coverage
- Communicate clearly with Account Coordinators to ensure smooth operational handoff after deal close
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Sales experience required; recycling, commodities, logistics, or related industries strongly preferred
- Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and closing skills
- Ability to manage multiple deals and moving parts simultaneously
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset; comfortable in a fast-paced, unstructured environment
- Experience with HubSpot CRM preferred
- Familiarity with ISRI commodity specifications a plus
