Quality Engineer – Manufacturing Operations

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to support a fast-paced manufacturing environment focused on producing high-quality components and driving continuous improvement across production operations. This role is hands-on and plays a key part in ensuring products, processes, and systems meet established quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain quality control systems to ensure compliance with internal standards and procedures
  • Conduct inspections and testing of products and manufacturing processes to identify defects and non-conformances
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, procurement, and operations teams to resolve quality issues
  • Support new product introductions, including review of design changes, supplier changes, and first article inspections
  • Participate in internal and external audits and ensure compliance with applicable quality standards
  • Track, analyze, and report quality metrics, inspection results, and process performance data
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives including Lean, 5S, and visual management systems
  • Assist in development of standard operating procedures and training materials
  • Support workforce training and competency tracking initiatives

Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment in a quality-related role
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, inspection methods, and process control
  • Experience with root cause analysis and structured problem-solving tools (8D, CAPA, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement principles
  • Knowledge of quality standards and systems (ISO, AS9100, or similar preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA, CQI) or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and process capability studies
  • Experience supporting audits and regulatory compliance
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across multiple departments
