Job Description

Controls Engineer – Industrial Manufacturing

Hiring a Controls Engineer to support the design, programming, testing, and startup of custom control systems for packaged mechanical equipment. This role works closely with engineering, manufacturing, project management, and customers to ensure systems operate efficiently and meet project requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design and program control systems for custom equipment packages
  • Develop controller and HMI programs for HVAC and pumping systems
  • Create wiring diagrams and control panel documentation
  • Test and troubleshoot control panels, electrical systems, and equipment before shipment
  • Perform factory testing and verify system operation, flow, pressure, and efficiency
  • Support startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities
  • Coordinate with contractors, customers, and internal teams during installation and integration
  • Prepare project documentation, startup packages, and final reports
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing, sales, and customers
  • Participate in continuous improvement and process improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field
  • Experience as a Controls Engineer in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with Allen Bradley, TRANE, JCI, ALC, or similar control systems
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical controls, wiring, and automation systems
  • Experience with CAD software and control panel design
  • Knowledge of HVAC, pumping systems, and skid package systems
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
