Construction Superintendent – Light Industrial

About the Opportunity
A well-established and growing general contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to join their Atlanta team. This position will primarily oversee light-industrial and commercial construction projects throughout the Atlanta market, with occasional travel required depending on project needs.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on field leader who can manage day-to-day site operations while maintaining a strong focus on safety, schedule, quality, subcontractor coordination, and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Manage all day-to-day field operations for ground-up light-industrial and commercial projects.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
- Develop and maintain project schedules and ensure milestones are achieved.
- Lead weekly subcontractor and project coordination meetings.
- Monitor jobsite safety and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
- Review plans, specifications, and project documents to identify potential issues.
- Coordinate inspections and work with local jurisdictions as required.
- Maintain quality control throughout all phases of construction.
- Track material deliveries and coordinate site logistics.
- Communicate regularly with the Project Manager, client, design team, and subcontractors.
- Identify potential schedule, quality, and cost issues and proactively develop solutions.
- Maintain accurate daily reports and project documentation.
- Assist with project closeout and punch-list activities.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial construction Superintendent experience.
- Experience with ground-up light-industrial, warehouse, distribution, or commercial projects strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and field activities simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, scheduling, and sequencing.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and construction safety requirements.
- Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions.
- Proficiency with Procore or similar construction management software preferred.
- Ability to travel occasionally as project requirements dictate.
- Construction Management degree or related education is a plus.
