Mechanical Design Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer to support product development, design improvements, and manufacturing initiatives. This role will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and project teams to develop designs that are functional, cost-effective, and manufacturable.

The ideal candidate will have experience with CAD design, mechanical components, and manufacturing processes. This position requires someone who can take projects from concept through production while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and products based on customer and engineering requirements

  • Create and modify 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software (AutoCAD experience preferred)

  • Review designs for manufacturability, cost, functionality, and performance

  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to support production processes and resolve design-related issues

  • Work with quality and production teams to improve existing products and processes

  • Assist with prototype development, testing, and product validation

  • Perform engineering analysis, calculations, and design reviews as needed

  • Maintain engineering documentation, drawings, and specifications

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and design optimization efforts

  • Stay current with industry trends, materials, and manufacturing technologies

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field preferred

  • Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar platforms

  • Understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

  • Experience supporting fabrication, machining, assembly, or production environments preferred

  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with product design and development

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, welding, or assembly

  • Experience creating production drawings and BOMs

  • Understanding of GD&T and engineering standards

  • Experience working with suppliers and manufacturing teams

  • Basic programming or automation knowledge is a plus
