The Commercial Construction Superintendent is responsible for the on-site management, coordination, and execution of commercial construction projects up to $30M. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards and contract documents.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily field operations from project start through closeout
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure efficient workflow
- Develop, maintain, and enforce project schedules (short-term and long-term)
- Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and company safety programs
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality control and compliance with plans/specifications
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Architects, and Owners
- Lead subcontractor meetings, safety meetings, and progress meetings
- Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and delays proactively
- Maintain accurate daily logs, reports, and documentation
- Ensure proper sequencing of work and site logistics planning
- Oversee inspections, punch lists, and project closeout activities
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction
- Proven experience managing projects up to $30M
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, and sequencing
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Experience with project management and scheduling software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project)
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
