The Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities for commercial, industrial, healthcare, educational, multifamily, or municipal projects valued up to $20 million. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract documents, quality standards, and company policies. The Superintendent coordinates subcontractors, manages field personnel, and serves as the primary on-site leader throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily on-site construction operations from mobilization through project completion.
- Develop and maintain the project schedule in coordination with the Project Manager.
- Supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to ensure efficient workflow.
- Enforce all OSHA and company safety policies, conducting regular safety meetings and site inspections.
- Ensure work complies with project plans, specifications, building codes, and quality standards.
- Coordinate inspections with local authorities and project consultants.
- Identify and resolve field issues while minimizing delays and cost impacts.
- Review subcontractor work for quality, completeness, and compliance.
- Coordinate material deliveries and equipment utilization.
- Maintain daily reports, site logs, and project documentation.
- Lead weekly subcontractor coordination meetings.
- Assist with project budgeting by monitoring labor productivity and material usage.
- Coordinate punch list completion, commissioning activities, and project closeout.
- Foster positive relationships with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and trade partners.
Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of commercial construction experience, with at least 3 years as a Superintendent.
- Proven experience managing projects valued up to $20 million.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, sequencing, and building systems.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and managing fast-paced project schedules.
- Proficient with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or Primavera P6.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
