Diesel Mechanic
We just partnered with a local, growing company that’s looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join their team. If you know your way around diesel engines and don’t mind getting your hands dirty, this could be a great opportunity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel trucks and heavy equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
- Repair or replace engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and other components.
- Use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and shop equipment to get the job done right.
- Read and understand service manuals, schematics, and repair information.
- Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance.
- Communicate with management and operations when equipment needs attention.
- Keep the shop and work area clean, safe, and organized.
- Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines.
- Work efficiently to keep equipment up and running.
- Other duties may be assigned.
COMPETENCIES:
- Solid knowledge of diesel engines and heavy-duty equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
- Ability to diagnose problems and get equipment back on the road.
- Good understanding of preventative maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in your work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- ASE certification and/or CDL is a plus.
- Diesel or heavy equipment repair experience preferred.
