Commercial & Bankruptcy Attorney (Hybrid)

A well-established and highly regarded law firm is seeking a Commercial & Bankruptcy Attorney to join its growing practice. This hybrid opportunity is available in either the firm's Cedar Rapids or Iowa City office and offers the chance to work on sophisticated matters involving commercial law, creditor's rights, banking, and bankruptcy.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of law firm or equivalent experience and significant prior experience in one or more of these practice areas. This position provides an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced attorneys while handling complex legal matters for a diverse client base.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in commercial law, creditor's rights, banking, and bankruptcy matters.
  • Advise financial institutions, businesses, and creditors on a variety of legal issues.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents and agreements.
  • Handle bankruptcy proceedings, collections, workouts, and related litigation matters.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare motions, briefs, and other court filings.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to develop effective legal strategies and solutions.
  • Manage multiple cases and transactions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing with the applicable state bar.
  • Minimum of two years of law firm or equivalent legal experience.
  • Significant experience in commercial law, creditor's rights, banking, or bankruptcy, with experience in multiple practice areas preferred.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent analytical, research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
