Shop Supervisor – Steel Fabrication Job

A long-established leader in the steel fabrication and metals industry is seeking an experienced Shop Supervisor to lead daily fabrication operations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily shop-floor fabrication activities.
  • Lead, train, and develop welders, fabricators, machine operators, and production employees.
  • Assign work and prioritize jobs to meet production schedules and delivery deadlines.
  • Monitor productivity, quality, workmanship, and safety.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and fabrication specifications.
  • Coordinate with engineering, project management, quality, and production planning.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and help keep projects moving efficiently.
  • Ensure employees follow established safety procedures and company standards.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts throughout shop operations.

Qualifications

  • Supervisory or lead experience in steel fabrication, structural steel, welding, metal fabrication, or heavy manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication and welding processes.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop shop-floor employees.
  • Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and meeting deadlines.
