Superintendent – Water/Wastewater Construction

Central Iowa

A well-established and growing contractor is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant projects throughout Central Iowa.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys leading from the field, developing crews, and taking ownership of projects from planning through completion. Projects are primarily local to Central Iowa, offering limited travel and a strong work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field operations for water/wastewater treatment plant projects.

• Supervise, mentor, and develop Foremen and self-perform field crews.

• Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and site logistics.

• Review plans and specifications and coordinate work between internal crews and subcontractors.

• Lead project and schedule planning to maintain productivity and meet milestones.

• Monitor project progress, material usage, costs, and overall field performance.

• Assist with cost projections, reporting, and resource planning.

• Anticipate project challenges and develop solutions to keep work moving.

• Maintain high standards for safety, quality, organization, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Superintendent experience on Water and/or Wastewater Treatment Plant construction.

• Experience leading self-perform crews.

• Experience overseeing projects valued at $10M+.

• Strong leadership, planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.
