Sales Agronomist

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and customer focused Sales Agronomist. In this role, you will partner with local growers to develop agronomic recommendations, and build long term customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing grower customers.
  • Scout fields and evaluate crop conditions throughout the growing season.
  • Recommend crop protection products, fertilizer, and seed.
  • Create customized agronomic plans that help growers improve yields and profitability.
  • Generate sales through prospecting, referrals, and territory development.
  • Stay current on agronomic trends, product advancements, and local cropping practices.
  • Coordinate with operations staff to ensure timely product delivery and application services.
  • Assist with customer meetings, field days, plot tours, and educational events.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, sales forecasts, and CRM documentation.
  • Achieve sales and gross margin goals established by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agriculture, or a related field preferred (or equivalent industry experience).
  • Experience in agronomy sales, crop consulting, or agricultural retail preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of corn, soybean, wheat, and/or regional crop production practices.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.
