Project Manager – Heavy Civil Construction (Highways & Bridges)

Position Overview
We are seeking a Project Manager to oversee heavy civil construction projects with a focus on highways and bridges. This individual will be responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate has a strong background in heavy highway and bridge work and is comfortable managing multiple moving parts in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of heavy civil projects from kickoff through closeout
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts
  • Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure successful execution
  • Review plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure scope alignment
  • Track project costs, change orders, and overall financial performance
  • Identify risks and implement solutions to keep projects on track
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and contract obligations

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience managing heavy civil construction projects, with a focus on highways and bridges
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and cost control
  • Experience working with DOT or public infrastructure projects preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contracts
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required)
