Job Opportunity: Paralegal / Legal Assistant (Business & Transactional)

Location: Boise, ID (On-site) Position Type: Full-Time

A prominent, multi-state law firm is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal/Legal Assistant to support two busy attorneys in our Boise office. This versatile role is ideal for a professional who enjoys a blend of high-level legal work, administrative management, and marketing support.

The successful candidate will serve as a foundational support pillar for the team, managing everything from complex entity formations to client-facing communications and office logistics.

Key Responsibilities

Legal & Transactional Support

  • Document Production: Draft and revise legal documents, including letters, agreements, deeds, and loan documents; manage version control and redlines.

  • Entity Maintenance: Assist in company formation and ongoing maintenance, including filings, EIN applications, and drafting governance documents.

  • Research: Conduct thorough factual and property research for active legal matters.

  • Compliance: Track and submit Continuing Legal Education (CLE) materials for Idaho and Oregon bar requirements.

Administrative & Financial Management

  • Calendar & Coordination: Manage attorney calendars; schedule and coordinate appointments, calls, and virtual meetings via Microsoft Teams.

  • File Management: Oversee all digital filing and matter management using Clio.

  • Billing: Review and edit pre-bills, manage time entry transfers, and coordinate with the accounting department to ensure accurate client invoicing.

  • Intake: Create new client matters, maintain contact records, and perform essential conflict checks.

Marketing & Outreach

  • Materials: Update professional bios, transaction lists, and website content.

  • Presentation Management: Coordinate logistics for attorney presentations to real estate brokers; apply for and track Idaho Real Estate Commission approvals.

Qualifications & Prerequisites

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet one of the following educational/experience benchmarks:

  1. Degree Path: A baccalaureate or advanced degree in any subject, plus 3–5 years of experience in a law firm.

  2. ABA Path: Certificate of completion from an ABA-approved paralegal program, plus 3–5 years of experience in a law firm.

  3. Accredited Program Path: A degree or certificate from a post-secondary institution requiring at least 24 semester units in law-related courses, plus 3–5 years of experience in a law firm.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency: High level of expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Outlook.

  • Software: Prior experience with Clio or similar legal practice management software is highly preferred.

  • Legal Knowledge: Strong familiarity with business/transactional law and legal billing practices.
