An award-winning engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Project Engineer – Transportationto join its growing transportation team. The ideal candidate is a transportation engineer who enjoys solving complex challenges, collaborating with talented professionals, and playing a key role in projects that positively impact communities.

What You’ll Do

  • Support and lead transportation projects from planning through construction.
  • Work on roadway rehabilitation, reconstruction, intersection improvements, traffic studies, and shared-use path projects.
  • Assist with project planning, design, reporting, and technical documentation.
  • Provide construction oversight and construction management support.
  • Collaborate with clients, municipalities, and internal project teams.
  • Contribute technical expertise while continuing to grow as a project leader.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 5+ years of transportation engineering experience.
  • Experience with roadway design, rehabilitation, reconstruction, intersection design, traffic studies, or shared-use path projects.
  • Knowledge of IDOT standards, Phase I/Phase II design requirements, and MFT requirements preferred.
  • Experience with MicroStation and traffic modeling software (HCS, Synchro, or similar) is a plus.
  • PTOE certification or the ability to obtain within one year is preferred.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $85,000 – $110,000
