A leading employee-owned engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Structural Engineering Manager to lead and grow its structural practice in the Chicago market.

This is an opportunity for an experienced structural engineer who enjoys combining technical leadership, team development, client relationships, and business growth. You will play a key role in shaping the direction of the practice while mentoring engineers and delivering high-quality projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of structural engineers and designers.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight on structural engineering projects.
  • Support project delivery, quality control, staffing, and resource planning.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Identify new opportunities and contribute to business development efforts.
  • Support proposals, presentations, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Partner with leadership to expand the structural engineering practice.

What They’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of structural engineering experience.
  • Illinois Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred.
  • Experience managing projects and leading engineering teams.
  • Strong technical background with proven leadership ability.
  • Ability to mentor staff and build lasting client relationships.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with interest in practice growth.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $125,000–$150,000(Based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit.)
