Senior Structural Project Engineer

A respected engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Structural Project Engineer to join its growing team in the Greater Chicago market.
This is an opportunity for a senior-level structural engineer to lead complex projects, provide technical expertise, work directly with clients, and mentor developing engineers.
What You’ll Do
- Lead structural projects from design through construction administration.
- Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Provide technical guidance to project teams.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
- Serve as a key client contact and strengthen relationships.
- Support project pursuits, proposals, and business development efforts.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- PE license required; SE preferred.
- 7+ years of structural engineering design experience.
- Experience preparing construction documents and technical specifications.
- Strong understanding of:
- Structural analysis and design
- Seismic design principles
- Lateral systems (braced frames, moment frames, shear walls)
- Experience with:
- ETABS
- RISA
- RAM
- Enercalc
- Revit
- Microsoft Office
- Strong communication, organization, and project management skills.
- Experience leading projects or mentoring engineers preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $120,000–$160,000 (based on experience, skills, and qualifications)
