A respected engineering consulting firm is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join its growing team in the Greater Chicago market.

This is a great opportunity for an engineer who wants to take on more responsibility, lead projects, work directly with clients, and build toward future leadership opportunities.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead structural engineering projects from design through delivery.
  • Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, and quality control.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineering staff.
  • Assist with technical decisions and project strategy.
  • Build strong client relationships through communication and project execution.
  • Work alongside senior engineers and leadership to grow your career.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • EIT required.
  • PE preferred; SE a plus.
  • 5+ years of structural engineering experience.
  • Experience with structural analysis, design, and construction documents.
  • Knowledge of structural materials including:
    • Steel
    • Concrete
    • Wood
    • Masonry
  • Understanding of seismic design and lateral systems.
  • Experience with structural design software:
    • ETABS
    • RISA
    • RAM
    • Enercalc
    • Revit
    • Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication, organization, and project management skills.

  • Salary: $90,000–$115,000 (based on experience, skills, and qualifications)
