Structural Steel Project Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Project Manager to oversee large-scale structural steel projects from award through completion. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with both structural steel fabrication and erection, along with a proven history of successfully managing projects ranging from 2,500–5,000+ tons.
Responsibilities
- Manage structural steel projects from contract award through completion
- Coordinate fabrication, detailing, erection, and field operations
- Work closely with customers, engineers, detailers, fabricators, and erection crews
- Review drawings, specifications, schedules, and project requirements
- Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets
- Monitor project progress, costs, materials, and manpower
- Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
- Maintain strong communication with customers and project stakeholders
- Identify and resolve project issues to keep work on schedule and within budget
- Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to contract requirements
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience managing structural steel projects
- Strong background in both structural steel fabrication and erection
- Proven experience leading large-scale projects, typically 2,500–5,000+ tons
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, and specifications
- Strong understanding of fabrication and erection processes
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
