Quality Engineer | Precision Manufacturing | ISO / AS9100 Environment
Looking for a place where your quality work actually shows up in the numbers—lower scrap, cleaner audits, happier customers? This is a hands‑on Quality Engineer role in a busy, close‑tolerance machining environment. You’ll work with CNC parts, good people, and customers in automotive, ag, defense, and other industrial markets who expect you to get it right the first time.
Own day‑to‑day quality support for CNC machining and fabrication (high‑mix, close‑tolerance work).
Work with operators, programmers, and supervisors to keep parts in spec and jobs moving.
Use PPAP, control plans, and basic FMEAs to launch and maintain new and existing parts.
Help solve problems on the floor using 8D, 5 Whys, and solid root‑cause thinking.
Check and review parts using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, and other precision tools.
Review prints and GD&T so everyone is clear on what “good” actually looks like.
Track scrap, rework, and customer issues—then help drive corrective actions that stick.
Support internal and customer audits (ISO/IATF environment), and help keep procedures up to date.
Experience as a Quality Engineer (or strong Quality Tech ready for the next step) in a machining or metal fabrication environment.
Comfortable working around CNC lathes, mills, and related shop equipment.
Able to read blueprints and GD&T and explain them to others on the floor.
Hands‑on with precision measuring tools and basic SPC; Minitab or similar is a plus.
Familiar with PPAP, control plans, nonconformance handling, and corrective actions.
Exposure to ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 quality systems.
Detail‑oriented, good communicator, and willing to walk the floor—not just sit in an office.
Background supporting automotive, agriculture, defense, heavy equipment, steel, or aluminum parts.
Experience with capability studies (Cp, Cpk), gage R&R, or MSA.
Previous internal audit experience.
