JOB DESCRIPTION
A well-established structural steel fabricator and erector is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team in a fully remote capacity. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a respected organization with a strong reputation for delivering complex structural steel projects and iconic builds across the United States—including exposure to large-scale stadium, arena, and marquee commercial projects.
This organization offers the stability of an established contractor combined with the flexibility of a remote work environment. They are seeking a motivated project management professional who can independently lead projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, and successfully execute structural steel fabrication and erection scopes from award through closeout.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage structural steel fabrication and erection projects from preconstruction through final completion
Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, general contractors, architects, engineers, and internal teams
Oversee project schedules, budgets, forecasting, procurement, and overall project execution
Coordinate fabrication, detailing, engineering, and field erection activities to ensure project success
Review contracts, drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
Track project costs, manage financial performance, and maintain profitability objectives
Develop and maintain project schedules and milestone tracking
Lead project meetings and communicate project status internally and externally
Identify project risks, constructability concerns, and develop mitigation plans
Support subcontractor coordination and procurement activities
Manage billing, collections, forecasting, and project documentation
Travel approximately 10% to project sites, client meetings, and key project milestones
QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of Project Management experience within structural steel fabrication and erection
Direct experience managing commercial and/or complex structural steel construction projects
Strong understanding of fabrication sequencing, erection processes, and structural steel project execution
Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and shop drawings
Experience managing budgets, schedules, cost controls, and change management
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and construction management software
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Ability to work independently in a remote home office environment
Experience coordinating directly with owners, general contractors, engineers, and internal operations teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience managing stadium, arena, sports venue, convention center, airport, or other marquee structural steel projects
Exposure to large-scale, highly visible commercial construction projects
Experience with Tekla, SDS/2, Bluebeam, Procore, FabTrol, or StruMIS
Background managing projects exceeding $10M in structural steel scope
COMPENSATION:
Base Salary: $80,000–$120,000 DOE
Performance-based bonus opportunity
Fully remote work environment with approximately 10% travel
Exposure to large, signature structural steel projects across the United States
