CNC Process Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize machining processes for multi-axis CNC (3–5 axis, Swiss, mill-turn)
- Create and troubleshoot CNC programs using CAM software (Mastercam, PartMaker or similar)
- Design workholding, tooling, and machining strategies for new and existing parts
- Support quoting with cycle time estimates, tooling requirements, and cost inputs
- Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce scrap, and improve quality
- Collaborate with machinists, inspection, and production teams to ensure successful part execution
- Interface with customers and vendors on technical requirements, materials, and secondary processes (heat treat, anodizing, grinding)
Qualifications:
- Strong background in CNC process engineering within a machine shop environment
- Experience with multi-axis machining, including Swiss and mill-turn applications
- Proficient in CAM programming and interpreting complex prints/models
- Knowledge of tooling, fixturing, and secondary operations
- Solid understanding of metrology, tolerances, and process capability
- Ability to troubleshoot machining and process-related issues on the floor
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience in CNC programming/process development
