Gpac is working with, a well-established growing family-owned food manufacturer that has been providing high-quality, handcrafted products for 60 plus years is seeking a 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician to join their team in the greater Boston area.
This role supports daily operations by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical/electrical/plumbing issues, and responding quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime in a manufacturing environment.
Shift hours - Monday through Thursday 2:30pm to 2:30am
Responsibilities:
•Conduct daily walkthroughs of production floor, facility interior/exterior, and roof to identify issues
•Respond promptly to equipment and facility breakdowns to reduce operational disruptions
•Perform routine and preventive maintenance on production machinery, including lubrication, adjustments, and part replacements
•Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues across equipment and facility systems
•Assist with equipment setup after cleaning and support operators in understanding machine functionality
•Maintain refrigeration systems, monitor units, stock spare motors, and coordinate coil cleaning twice yearly
•Manage general facility maintenance, including coordination with contractors for roofing, plumbing, electrical, painting, landscaping, and grease trap services
•Maintain a clean, organized maintenance shop and manage spare parts inventory to reduce downtime
•Keep accurate maintenance records, equipment history, and work order updates in CertDox
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or similar role in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
• Effective problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
• Strong time‑management and organizational abilities.
• Vocational training or certification in mechanical, electrical, or related fields preferred.
• Bilingual (preferred).
