Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Survey Crew Chief to lead and manage field survey operations. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong leadership abilities and expertise in land surveying. The Survey Crew Chief will collaborate with project managers, clients, and field teams to ensure accurate data collection and efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and oversee field survey operations, including boundary, topographic, construction, and as-built surveys.

  • Operate and maintain advanced survey equipment such as GPS, total stations, and data collectors.

  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols, project requirements, and company standards.

  • Perform field calculations, data collection, and quality control to guarantee precision.

  • Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and clients to align project expectations.

  • Maintain accurate field notes, sketches, and reports for project documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Survey Crew Chief or similar leadership role.

  • In-depth knowledge of land surveying techniques, equipment, and best practices.

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.

  • 5+ years of experience in land surveying.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Trimble, and other modern survey technologies.

  • Solid understanding of land survey principles, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work in various outdoor conditions.

  • High school diploma required; a degree in surveying or a related field is preferred.
