Tax Senior

Location: Farmington Hills, MI

Overview

A national professional services firm serving the middle market is seeking a Tax Senior in Farmington Hills, Michigan. You will take on more complex assignments, learn to manage all aspects of client work and take a lead role in developing and reviewing the work of less experienced staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of tax engagements, including planning, preparation and review of individual, corporate and partnership returns
• Serve as primary point of contact for assigned clients and build strong relationships
• Conduct tax research and develop tax planning strategies
• Review returns for accuracy and compliance and manage filing deadlines and extensions
• Communicate complex tax concepts to clients and present on tax matters
• Supervise and mentor tax staff
• Identify opportunities to improve tax workflows and processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
• 3-5 years of relevant public accounting experience
• CPA firm experience preferred
• Working toward CPA licensure if not already attained
