I'm representing a respected and growing engineering consulting firm in the Detroit Metro area that is looking to add an experienced Licensed Professional Land Surveyor to their team.

What You'll Be Leading

  • Manage surveying projects from initial scope through final deliverables
  • Prepare ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and location surveys
  • Oversee engineering as-builts, legal descriptions, and exhibits
  • Support subdivision and condominium plan preparation
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and client expectations
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews
  • Assist with project proposals and scoping
  • Communicate with clients, municipalities, and internal project teams
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and field crews
  • Perform field work as needed

What They're Looking For

  • Active Michigan Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license
  • Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying or equivalent experience
  • Strong background in boundary, topographic, and ALTA/NSPS surveys
  • Experience managing survey projects and client relationships
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Carlson Survey
  • Ability to interpret engineering plans and construction documents
  • Knowledge of local, state, and municipal surveying standards
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with engineering teams
  • Project management experience
  • Familiarity with land development projects
  • Experience mentoring survey staff

Compensation

$90,000–$180,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and leadership background.
