Civil Estimator – Heavy Civil Construction
I’m working with an established heavy civil contractor with 30+ years in the industry that is looking to add an experienced Civil Estimator to its team.
This is a great opportunity for an estimator who enjoys diverse civil projects rather than estimating the same type of work every day. The company performs much of its work in-house, giving the estimating and operations teams greater control from bid through completion.
Site development, excavation, mass grading and earthwork
Underground utilities, water/sewer and utility rehabilitation
Highway and roadway construction
Bridge construction and repair
Concrete construction
Demolition and site remediation
Environmental and brownfield redevelopment
Trucking, engineered fill and related heavy civil scopes
You’ll review plans and specifications, perform quantity takeoffs, develop labor/equipment/material costs, solicit subcontractor and supplier pricing, and prepare competitive estimates and proposals.
Just as importantly, you’ll work closely with project managers, field operations, engineers, municipalities, developers and company leadership to make sure estimates reflect how projects will actually be built.
This is a organization with the resources and project diversity of a much larger contractor. They have professional civil and structural engineering expertise in-house and perform a significant portion of their construction work themselves.
