Fire Sprinkler Manager/Engineer

What You'll Do
- Serve as a technical leader on fire protection design, guiding projects from concept through completion.
- Manage small teams across multiple projects, keeping deliverables, deadlines, and budgets on track.
- Determine design criteria for a variety of design/build and plan/spec projects.
- Design and hydraulically calculate complete sprinkler and standpipe systems using AutoSPRINK.
- Coordinate fire protection design with other building trades for seamless project execution.
- Review, comment on, and approve fire protection plans and calculations prepared by designers.
- Partner closely with project managers and internal teams to ensure client and company specifications are met.
- Seal and sign fire protection plans and calculations for self-designed and reviewed projects.
What You Bring
- Experience developing building code concepts and equivalencies, plus conducting plan reviews and field inspections.
- The ability to present clear, technically sound fire protection engineering strategies with confidence.
- A track record of building strong working relationships across departments, trades, and clients.
- Deep working knowledge of NFPA standards and codes, government fire safety standards, and FM Global Datasheets.
- Proficiency in AutoSPRINK, Navisworks, Revizto, and Microsoft Office.
- Comfort performing hydraulic calculations and coordinating within 3D BIM environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications
- Relevant design certifications (Fire Protection PE license or NICET Certification).
- An NCEES record, with willingness to apply for additional state licenses.
- 5+ years of fire sprinkler design experience.
- A valid driver's license, with the ability to maintain it.
Good to Know
- Some overnight travel is required.
- Choose your work style: onsite at our Mt. Morris, MI headquarters five days a week, or fully remote.
