This is a full-time, in-office role ideal for a confident litigator who is ready to take the lead on a variety of complex civil cases with limited oversight.

You’ll be handling a diverse litigation caseload from day one—including appearances at hearings, depositions, and trials. This role requires a strong command of North Carolina civil procedure and an ability to think on your feet while maintaining professionalism in and out of the courtroom.

πŸ›  Key Responsibilities

  • Advocate for clients in civil litigation matters, including trials, hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences

  • Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs

  • Conduct in-depth legal research using platforms like Westlaw

  • Take and defend depositions; interview witnesses and collaborate with experts

  • Argue motions and appear in court independently

  • Strategically negotiate settlements to secure client objectives

  • Collaborate with fellow attorneys and support staff to prepare cases

  • Stay current on legal developments that impact clients and case strategy

βœ… What We’re Looking For

  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina (Active & in Good Standing)

  • Minimum 1 year of civil litigation experience

  • Able to work independently and manage a litigation caseload with minimal supervision

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills

  • Confident communicator with excellent drafting and advocacy skills

  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines

  • Team-oriented mindset with a proactive, self-starter attitude
