Truck Driver
Position Summary
The Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of agricultural products, grain, agronomy inputs, fuel, and other cooperative materials between company locations, customer farms, and designated delivery points. This position plays a key role in supporting the cooperative's mission of providing exceptional service to member-owners and customers while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and operational efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport grain, fertilizer, seed, crop protection products, feed, fuel, and other agricultural products.
- Deliver products to customer locations in a timely and professional manner.
- Load and unload trucks while following all company safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle inspection reports.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, tickets, bills of lading, and required DOT documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations, cooperative policies, and safety procedures.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, operations personnel, location managers, and customers regarding schedules and delivery needs.
- Assist with grain handling, agronomy operations, warehouse activities, and facility maintenance as needed.
- Monitor vehicle performance and promptly report maintenance or repair needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and professional appearance of assigned equipment.
- Support seasonal operations during planting, application, harvest, and other peak business periods.
- Promote a positive image of the cooperative through courteous and professional customer interactions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Acceptable driving record and ability to meet company insurability requirements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required endorsements as needed.
- Strong commitment to safety and customer service.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
