A well-respected law firm is seeking a skilled and driven Workers' Compensation Attorney to join the team. In this role, you will work closely with experienced personal injury attorneys while helping to lead and expand the firm’s Workers’ Compensation practice. The ideal candidate brings at least three years of relevant experience and a strong interest in further developing their expertise in this area.
Compensation:
$150,000 – $250,000 (DOE)
Key Responsibilities
- Handle workers’ compensation cases from intake through final resolution.
- Review and evaluate medical records and reports to ensure accurate documentation and appropriate treatment.
- Represent clients at hearings, conferences, and administrative proceedings.
- Counsel clients on case progress, treatment plans, and expectations.
- Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, discovery, deposition materials, and trial-related documents.
- Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and opposing counsel to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel through effective communication.
Education & Experience
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school required.
- Minimum of 3 years of workers’ compensation experience required.
- Admission to the New York State Bar required.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and case management systems; experience with Filevine is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
