🔧 Second Shift Maintenance Manager | Bergen County, NJ
Monday–Friday | $115,000–$140,000 Base Salary
I'm partnering with a long-standing, highly respected food manufacturer that is looking to add a Second Shift Maintenance Manager to its leadership team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong maintenance teams, driving reliability, and making a real impact in a modern, highly automated manufacturing environment.
If you're the type of leader who likes being on the production floor, solving problems, mentoring technicians, and improving processes—not sitting behind a desk all day—this could be an excellent next step.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead, coach, and develop a skilled second shift maintenance team.
- Improve equipment uptime and plant reliability through preventive maintenance and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and monitor KPIs to reduce downtime.
- Manage CMMS activities, work orders, and preventive maintenance programs.
- Coordinate equipment repairs, installations, and outside contractors.
- Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, and Production to keep the facility running efficiently.
- Champion safety, GMP, OSHA, and Lockout/Tagout compliance.
- Help recruit, train, and develop maintenance technicians while building a strong team culture.
What They're Looking For
- Maintenance leadership experience in food, beverage, bakery, dairy, protein, or another FDA-regulated manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading maintenance teams in a highly automated manufacturing facility.
- Strong knowledge of industrial equipment such as conveyors, packaging systems, mixers, ovens, pumps, freezers, robotics, and preventive maintenance systems.
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting expertise with a passion for continuous improvement and developing people.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
- Monday–Friday second shift schedule.
- $115,000–$140,000 base salary, depending on experience.
- Stable, well-established manufacturer with modern equipment and strong leadership.
- High-visibility leadership role with the opportunity to influence plant performance and build a high-performing maintenance team.
