Legal Assistant for Bankruptcy & Litigation


Location: Las Vegas, NV (Full-time, in-office; not a remote or hybrid position)

Position Overview:

Seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Bankruptcy/ Litigation Legal Assistant to provide coverage across multiple teams as needed. This is a dynamic, fast-paced position suited for a proactive and adaptable legal assistant with strong multitasking skills and the ability to integrate quickly with different attorneys and case types while maintaining clear processes and team support. This position requires consistent in-office attendance and is not structured as a remote or hybrid role. We understand that occasional personal circumstances arise and offer limited flexibility on a case-by-case basis; however, regular remote work is not part of this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting multiple attorneys and teams (Litigation and Bankruptcy) as needed during peak workloads and scheduling gaps.
  • Prepare, format, edit, proofread, and file legal documents (state and federal courts, including e-filing). This includes pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and contracts.
  • Manage attorney calendars, schedule hearings, depositions, and client meetings
  • Handle case management tasks, including maintaining electronic files and trial binders
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure timely filings
  • Draft correspondence and routine legal documents with minimal supervision
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
  • Perform other administrative duties as needed to support attorneys and staff

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a litigation legal assistant
  • Solid knowledge of Nevada civil procedure and court filing requirements (state and federal)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and legal document management systems
  • Able to utilize advanced Microsoft Word features including styles, headings, section breaks, automatic numbering, tables of contents and authorities.
  • Able to manage document revisions using track changes and document comparison tools.
  • Able to apply proper legal formatting consistent with court rules, including captions, headings, pagination and exhibits.
  • Familiarity with e-filing platforms (e.g., Odyssey, CM/ECF, File & ServeXpress)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal communication skills
  • High degree of discretion and confidentiality
