Position Summary:
The Director of Brand Marketing leads the strategy and execution of brand and product marketing, driving growth across our K–12 and retail foodservice portfolios. This role defines a clear, customer-first brand vision and translates it into focused, actionable plans that strengthen positioning, support sales, and expand market share. The Director owns go-to-market strategy and post-commercialization execution, ensuring every product launch is supported by clear messaging, structured sales enablement, and targeted campaigns that drive adoption.
This role partners closely with Sales, Commercialization, Operations, R&D, and QA to align marketing strategies with production capabilities, customer needs, and financial objectives. This position owns the marketing spend and is accountable for delivering measurable results, leveraging CRM insights, customer segmentation, and performance data to optimize campaigns, improve targeting, and drive growth. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, able to build scalable processes, lead cross-functional alignment, and translate data into actions that drive revenue and profitability. This role leads and develops a small but high-impact team, including a Marketing Manager and Graphic Designer, ensuring clear priorities, strong execution, and continued capability building.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the brand vision to drive continuous success and advancement of the organization
- Define and execute a customer-first marketing strategy aligned to revenue growth and market expansion for both K-12 and Retail Foodservice.
- Own go-to-market strategy and launch execution for all new products, ensuring clear positioning, messaging, and sales readiness
- Partner with Commercialization to build scalable GTM processes and launch frameworks that drive consistent execution
- Develop and iterate on value propositions for products and categories to drive differentiation and competitive advantage
- Design a holistic strategy for the brand and products and cascade it into goals, campaigns, and execution
- Lead and develop the marketing team, including direct management of a Marketing Manager and Graphic Designer, driving accountability, prioritization, and high-quality execution across all initiatives
- Drive sales enablement initiatives, including broker and sales training, targeted campaigns, regional focused campaigns, and event support
- Build and execute segmented, targeted marketing campaigns leveraging CRM insights
- Work cross-functionally to maintain real-time knowledge of inventory and sales performance
- Create and manage the annual marketing budget and related business plans
- Oversee the corporate website and digital platforms as centralized sales enablement hubs
- Ensure ongoing measurement and optimization of all marketing channels and campaigns
- Define and track KPIs aligned with brand, category, and product performance
- Establish reporting frameworks to provide consistent, actionable insights to the business
- Implement and improve marketing systems, tools, and workflows to increase efficiency and scalability
- Partner with R&D and QA to support product pipeline planning and successful launches
- Leverage consumer, operator, and competitive insights to inform innovation and growth strategies
- Leverage emerging tools and technologies, including AI-driven solutions, to improve marketing efficiency
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 10+ years of marketing experience, B2B experience is a plus
- Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field
- Food and beverage sector and/or consumer products experience helpful
- Proven ability to lead with strategy and translate it into execution
- Must have marketing leadership and hands-on experience
- Highly proactive self-starter with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment and build processes and systems from the ground up
- Must have proven ability to create brand and product plans
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting timelines and budgets
- Deep experience leading go-to-market strategy and execution, with a focus on driving adoption and post-launch performance
- Proven ability to influence and align cross-functional stakeholders, particularly Sales, to drive execution and results
- Must be comfortable working in an entrepreneurial, ever-changing, dynamic environment
- Need the ability to tell a story with data
- Strong knowledge of web and analytics tools, including experience integrating social media, marketing, and web initiatives
- Ability to manage internal relationships and communications to drive alignment and enthusiasm
- Strong project management, verbal, written, presentation, and multitasking skills
- Familiar with CRM tools and contact databases
