Maintenance Technician III

Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician III supports manufacturing and maintenance operations by troubleshooting and repairing electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. This role ensures minimal downtime through effective maintenance of PLCs, HMIs, and PC-based control systems. The technician works independently under the general oversight of the Maintenance Manager and contributes to preventive maintenance, minor design/build projects, and backup leadership as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety & Compliance: Follow safety procedures and comply with OSHA, NEC, and company standards.

  • Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and fix issues in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

  • Control Systems Support: Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and PC-based automation systems.

  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled PMs and recommend reliability improvements.

  • Technical Fabrication: Cut, weld, and fabricate basic components as needed.

  • System Design & Upgrades: Modify control circuits and update related documentation.

  • Inventory & Documentation: Use CMMS to track work, log parts, and manage orders.

  • Leadership Support: Act as backup for Maintenance Lead or Manager when needed.

  • Continuous Improvement: Support 5S, Kaizen, and ongoing technical training.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.

  • Proficient with Studio 5000, FactoryTalk, DriveTools SP, and CCW.

  • Familiarity with NEC, OSHA, and NFPA 70B/70E.

  • Able to read schematics, P&IDs, and ladder logic.

  • Good time management, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with VFDs, servos, and industrial sensors.

Education & Experience

  • Associate degree or state-approved apprenticeship in a related field.

  • 10+ years of industrial maintenance experience.

  • Preferred certifications in Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and drives
