Associate Attorney – Business Litigation
Location: Cleveland, OH
Compensation: $150,000 – $200,000 / year (commensurate with experience)
Position Overview
A leading national law firm with a strong Midwest footprint and a reputation for litigation excellence is seeking an Associate Attorney with 5+ years of experience to join its dynamic Business Litigation Practice Group in Cleveland, Ohio.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced litigator to manage sophisticated commercial disputes, take a lead role in case strategy and court appearances, and work alongside recognized industry leaders in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Case Management: Oversee day-to-day case tasks and lead strategic case development from inception through discovery, trial preparation, and trial.
Depositions & Court Appearances: Regularly conduct and defend depositions, appear in court, and argue substantive motions.
Trial & Dispute Resolution: Assist with trial strategy, record reviews, witness preparation, and client interviews; actively participate in trials, arbitrations, evidentiary hearings, and settlement conferences.
Pleadings & Communications: Draft motions, discovery responses, client reports, and strategic case updates.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: 5+ years of litigation experience required, with a strong background in commercial business disputes preferred.
Licensure: Active license to practice law in the State of Ohio is required.
Trial & Deposition Skills: Proven experience taking and defending depositions, as well as involvement in trials, arbitrations, or evidentiary hearings.
Core Competencies: Superior analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, paired with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Business Development: Portable business or a demonstrated interest in business development is a plus, but not required.
