Job Description

Dayton, OH area structural steel fabricator is looking for a Steel Estimator to bid commercial and industrial projects. You'll estimate fabricated and erected structural and miscellaneous steel, from takeoff through the final proposal.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare full estimates covering material, shop labor, and erection, plus the written proposal
• Discuss erection sequencing and constructability with steel erectors and project managers
• Do quantity takeoffs and pricing for structural and miscellaneous steel from plans and specs
• Source and evaluate quotes for detailing, erection, galvanizing, coatings, and freight

Background needed:

• Strong blueprint reader
• 5+ years of structural steel estimating
• Experience with Tekla EPM, SDS2, or similar estimating software
