Heavy Civil Project Manager – Water & Wastewater

A well-established and growing heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in water and wastewater construction. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven construction professional who wants to take ownership of complex infrastructure projects while working with a company that offers long-term career growth, strong project backlog, and competitive compensation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage heavy civil and water/wastewater projects from preconstruction through final completion
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost forecasts, and financial projections
  • Oversee project execution to ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and to contract specifications
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, engineers, inspectors, and field personnel
  • Manage project buyout, procurement, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and pay applications
  • Review plans, specifications, contracts, and construction documents
  • Monitor project costs, labor productivity, material usage, and overall profitability
  • Lead project meetings and maintain strong communication with owners, engineers, municipalities, and stakeholders
  • Identify project risks and develop solutions to minimize delays and cost overruns
  • Work closely with the Superintendent and field team to ensure successful project execution
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and provide regular financial and schedule updates
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience in heavy civil construction
  • Strong experience with water and wastewater projects
  • Experience with municipal infrastructure, utilities, treatment plants, pump stations, or pipeline construction
  • Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and change orders
  • Strong understanding of heavy civil construction means, methods, and materials
  • Ability to read and interpret civil plans, specifications, contracts, and project documents
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with construction management and scheduling software
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • OSHA and other applicable safety certifications are a plus
