Heavy Civil Project Manager – Water & Wastewater
A well-established and growing heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in water and wastewater construction. Responsibilities
- Manage heavy civil and water/wastewater projects from preconstruction through final completion
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost forecasts, and financial projections
- Oversee project execution to ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and to contract specifications
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, engineers, inspectors, and field personnel
- Manage project buyout, procurement, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and pay applications
- Review plans, specifications, contracts, and construction documents
- Monitor project costs, labor productivity, material usage, and overall profitability
- Lead project meetings and maintain strong communication with owners, engineers, municipalities, and stakeholders
- Identify project risks and develop solutions to minimize delays and cost overruns
- Work closely with the Superintendent and field team to ensure successful project execution
- Maintain accurate project documentation and provide regular financial and schedule updates
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Project Management experience in heavy civil construction
- Strong experience with water and wastewater projects
- Experience with municipal infrastructure, utilities, treatment plants, pump stations, or pipeline construction
- Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and change orders
- Strong understanding of heavy civil construction means, methods, and materials
- Ability to read and interpret civil plans, specifications, contracts, and project documents
- Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with construction management and scheduling software
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred
- OSHA and other applicable safety certifications are a plus
