Position: Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney

About the Role

This role focuses on representing employers, insurers, and related entities in workers’ compensation defense matters throughout Oregon and Washington. The firm is open to attorneys with prior workers’ compensation experience as well as attorneys looking to transition from adjacent practice areas such as personal injury, insurance defense, healthcare, or family law.

Attorneys are provided with substantial mentorship, hands-on training, and long-term development support from experienced practitioners.


Responsibilities

  • Handle workers’ compensation defense matters from inception through resolution
  • Draft legal correspondence, opinion letters, and related filings
  • Conduct depositions, hearings, and case strategy development
  • Communicate directly with clients, physicians, and opposing counsel
  • Collaborate with attorneys and support staff in a team-oriented environment
  • Participate in client development, education, and firm initiatives

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of litigation or related legal experience preferred
  • Workers’ compensation experience is helpful but not required
  • Backgrounds in:
    • Personal injury
    • Insurance defense
    • Healthcare law
    • Family law
    • General litigation
      are highly transferable
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Team-oriented mindset with willingness to learn and grow
  • Oregon Bar admission preferred (Washington admission is a plus)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $115,000 – $180,000+ DOE
  • Annual bonus opportunities including production-based bonuses
  • Hybrid flexibility (2 days/week in office; highly flexible scheduling)
