Litigation Associate Attorney 

Location: Portland, Oregon
Job Type: Full-Time | Hybrid
Salary: $130,000 – $165,000 DOE

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage all phases of litigation from intake through resolution, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, motion practice, and trial prep

  • Appear in court for hearings, trials, mediations, and arbitrations

  • Provide legal counsel and strategic recommendations to clients on complex legal issues

  • Collaborate with clients, colleagues, experts, and support staff to develop and execute effective litigation strategies

  • Stay current with relevant legal developments, precedents, and regulatory updates


Essential Functions:

  • Draft legal documents including complaints, motions, briefs, and discovery responses

  • Conduct and defend depositions, attend hearings, and advocate in court proceedings

  • Perform legal research and apply findings to case strategy and client guidance

  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team

  • Engage in settlement discussions and negotiations to achieve favorable outcomes for clients


Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of litigation experience, with a focus in construction, employment, and/or municipal defense preferred

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Oregon and in good standing with the state bar

  • Excellent legal writing, oral advocacy, and analytical skills

  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage a full caseload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary: $130,000 – $165,000, depending on experience
