Tax Reviewer / CPA

Location: Portland, OR

About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a well-established public accounting firm seeking an experienced Tax Reviewer / CPA to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional who enjoys reviewing complex returns, mentoring staff, and building strong client relationships while working in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review individual, partnership, S corporation, C corporation, trust, and nonprofit tax returns for accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to tax staff and seniors.
  • Research and resolve complex tax issues while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Work directly with clients to answer tax-related questions and identify planning opportunities.
  • Review tax projections and assist with strategic tax planning initiatives.
  • Manage multiple engagements and ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Assist with workflow management and help improve internal tax processes.
  • Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Active CPA license required.
  • 5+ years of recent public accounting tax experience.
  • Strong experience reviewing business and individual tax returns.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior staff.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with tax software such as CCH Axcess, UltraTax, GoSystem, or similar platforms.
