Job Description

A stable, high-volume frozen food manufacturer is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician Lead to support a highly automated production environment focused on reliability, uptime, food safety, and operational performance.

This facility recently expanded operations and continues to invest heavily in automation, equipment upgrades, preventative maintenance initiatives, and plant infrastructure. Maintenance plays a major role within the operation, and leadership recognizes the direct impact the team has on production performance, efficiency, and food safety.

The environment includes high-speed packaging systems, conveyors, laminators, proofers, industrial ovens, spiral freezers, refrigeration systems, and PLC-controlled production equipment.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting complex manufacturing systems, improving equipment reliability, leading maintenance teams, and working in a fast-paced plant where technical expertise is respected and valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead preventive and predictive maintenance activities across production and facility equipment
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-controlled systems
• Support maintenance technicians and outside contractors
• Drive root cause analysis for downtime and equipment failures
• Improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and plant uptime
• Support equipment installs, automation upgrades, and capital projects
• Maintain CMMS systems, maintenance records, and work orders
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and safety standards
• Partner with operations leadership to support production goals

Equipment & Systems

• High-speed packaging equipment
• Spiral freezers
• Bakery ovens and proofers
• Conveyors and automated systems
• PLC and automation controls
• Refrigeration systems

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of industrial maintenance experience
• Food manufacturing experience strongly preferred
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting ability
• Experience with PLCs, automation systems, and high-speed production equipment
• Refrigeration experience highly valued
• Leadership or supervisory experience within maintenance operations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Preferred Certifications

• CMRP
• OSHA 30
• Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLC Certifications
• RETA / IIAR Ammonia Refrigeration Certification
• Lean Manufacturing / TPM Certifications
