Position Overview
The Preconstruction Manager / Estimator will play a key role in shaping projects from concept through preconstruction, working closely with internal teams, design partners, clients, and subcontractors. This individual will lead estimating efforts, develop detailed budgets, analyze project risks, and support value engineering and early procurement strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare conceptual, schematic, and detailed estimates for a variety of commercial and institutional projects
Build accurate cost models and budgets aligned with scope, schedule, and design intent
Conduct constructability reviews and identify cost-saving or value-adding alternatives
Maintain strong communication with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors during design and pre-bid phases
Lead subcontractor outreach, bid leveling, scope reviews, and early procurement planning
Qualifications
5+ years of estimating or preconstruction experience in commercial construction
Strong understanding of construction means, methods, systems, and cost structures
Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents
Proficiency with estimating and digital takeoff software (any platform acceptable)
Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
