Creditor's Rights Attorney

 

A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Bankruptcy/Creditors’ Rights Attorney to join its growing practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants substantial responsibility, sophisticated matters, and the opportunity to work directly with clients and other attorneys.

Position Overview

The attorney will represent creditors, financial institutions, businesses, and other clients in a variety of bankruptcy and creditors’ rights matters. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of bankruptcy law and experience handling matters from initial strategy through resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Represent creditors and other interested parties in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy matters
  • Handle bankruptcy litigation, contested matters, and adversary proceedings
  • Represent clients in foreclosure, collections, replevin, and other creditors’ rights matters
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other legal documents
  • Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and court proceedings
  • Analyze financial and legal issues and develop effective case strategies
  • Communicate directly with clients and provide practical legal advice
  • Manage multiple matters while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality work product
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys, clients, and support staff

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in SC
  • 2+ years of bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, commercial litigation, or related experience
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Experience appearing in court is preferred
  • Ability to independently manage matters and work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
