General Manager (GM) – Grain, Agronomy, Feed & Energy Operations

About the Company A well-established agricultural business specializing in grain and seed handling, cleaning, and marketing, with additional operations in agronomy, feed, and energy. The company serves local producers and domestic/international markets while maintaining strong community and grower relationships.

Position Summary Seeking a hands-on General Manager to lead a multi-division ag facility. This role oversees grain operations along with agronomy, feed, and energy services, while also driving P&L performance, grain merchandising, and grower relationships. The GM will serve as the face of the company locally and manage day-to-day operational and commercial execution.

Facility Overview

  • ~30 full-time employees
  • 3 direct reports
  • Multi-division operation: grain, agronomy, feed, energy

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations across all divisions (grain, agronomy, feed, energy)
  • Oversee grain handling, cleaning, and facility performance
  • Manage grain origination and merchandising activities
  • Build and maintain strong grower and customer relationships
  • Full P&L responsibility including budgeting and forecasting
  • Drive profitability, efficiency, and operational improvements
  • Develop and lead staff, ensuring strong culture and accountability
  • Represent the company in the local ag community

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in grain, agronomy, or ag operations leadership
  • Strong knowledge of grain handling and merchandising
  • Experience in P&L management and grower-facing roles
  • Proven leadership and team development skills
  • Strong communication and decision-making abilities

Compensation & Benefits

  • $150,000 – $175,000 base + profit sharing
  • Company truck
